I have a simple encouragement today. Read your Bible. I’m begging us all to make it a real part of our lives. It’s alarming how many Christ followers don’t have a relationship with the word of God. I was on the phone this morning with one of our New Creation pastors and discovered we were both reading through Hebrews. It’s always encouraging when fellow brothers and sisters are being blessed with what you’re being simultaneously blessed by. I told him this morning that it felt like a “soul hug” after finishing the letter. It’s so easy to be immersed in the social media world, tv shows, and the myriad of distractions. It’s easy to vacate from God as you’re vacating to the beach. We need the word of God. We need the fellowship of the saints. It’s been some subtle mindsets creeping into even believers that are dangerous to our relationship with God. Be mindful. Be watchful.
Hebrews 4:12-13 CSB “For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account”
Until next time
