The Narrow Way
Hope you all are well. If you have not, share “Brain Dump” with someone. Hope the random nuggets and thoughts have been a blessing to your life. It’s been cool to have a space to share what swirls in this mind of mine. Thanks to all who joined me last week in praying for the Church. It was so encouraging to get the messages and shares that people were praying. We need to pray. We need God.
I was chatting with a friend today and was just encouraging each other to stay faithful on the journey with Jesus. It’s hard. As Matthew 7 puts it, it’s the narrow path. Most days aren’t that exciting and in a generation and era that’s big on endorphins increasing with everything done, it’s not that way most days. A lot of what we “do” is not seen. It’s the behind the scene integrity. It’s the being silent even when you were “right” but you were following the Lord’s instructions. It’s the giving when no one knew and much much more. It’s being obedient without any expectations but just because you love the Lord.
The Narrow and Wide Gates (Matthew 7)
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
I encourage us all to keep it simple. Enjoy delighting in Jesus. Enjoy prayer. Enjoy the word. Enjoy gathering with the church. Simple delights.
