I learned a long time ago that between “the word” and “the reality” of that word coming to pass is the WAIT. No one likes to wait. It’s not a new revelation. In fact, we have never liked waiting and never will. One of the worst driving experiences I’ve ever had was in New York. It’s not even a millisecond that the light is green before you are being honked off the road. If i’m honestly that’s how I feel internally during seasons of waiting.
As you all know I’m moving to Orlando prayerfully this summer but it’s felt like 10 years already that I’ve been waiting haha. Don’t judge me. Think about your process of waiting and you’ll give me a little grace haha. I’ve learned that as we wait there is much being revealed about God and much about the inner working of our hearts. So what do we do while we wait?! Let’s see what scripture says:
“Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes” Psalm 37:7
“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” Psalm 27:14
Those are just a couple of many verses that encourages us to wait on the Lord. If you notice in those verses, waiting isn’t an inactive word. You are actively engaging with God in slow loving union with him and you are feeding yourself his word which allows you to stay in expectation and hope. As you feed yourself his word and engage with him in prayer you are remembering his character and know that he will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
I just felt led to encourage you all. I don’t know who all is in this same place as me but know you’re not alone. Lastly, I know we all are collectively waiting for the best day ever as believers, the return of Jesus. Until then find your total life satisfaction IN HIM. Jesus is the greatest treasure and most important one we’d ever “wait” on.
“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself” Philippians 3:20-21.
Love yall.
Until Next Time
