Word of Mouth
Romans 10:13-14 ESV “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
I have a friend who has never been on social media and still isn’t. It’s quite amazing because there is a purity to his life that you don’t see in many people nowadays. In honesty, we aren’t supposed to have so much access to information from places we don’t even live. No wonder there’s so much fear and anxiety in the world. Anyway, I was informing him about a concert that was coming near where he lived and he was super grateful and said “I wouldn’t have found out about this unless you told me”.
Y’all know me, LOL. I couldn’t stop thinking about that. There’s an unhealthy assumption that because things appear “viral” in your sphere that it’s viral everywhere and that’s just not true. As a believer, I can easily assume everyone has heard about Jesus because that’s what surrounds my life but that’s just not true. We still need to share the news about Jesus. We still need to be proclaiming his message. They won’t hear unless we speak. The last few shows on TV that I’ve watched were because someone literally wouldn’t shut up about it LOL. How much more for those of us who carry the best news?
It’s scary and we fumble but the Lord is with us. He promised us in the great commission that he’s with us always!
Grace and Peace
Until next time
